 1st appearance of Ma-Durga is known as Shailputri. She was born as a daughter to mountain king Himalaya. Seated on bull this Mataji has Trisham in right hand & Lotus flower in left hand. Shailputri is the 1st Durga in 9.
Before Shailputri tools birth as a daughter of Himalaya. She was known as Sati daughter of Daksh Prajapati in rebirth. In one sacrificial rite God Shankar was not invited at Daksh home then also Sati goes there & was not given honor becoming afflicted she burnt herself in sacrificial pit. Knowing this sorrowful event God Shankar get angry & send his troops of attendants & destroy everything.
After that Sati take another birth at king of mountain Himalaya & was known as Shaila Putri. Her other names are Parvati, Hemavati etc. are also famous.
On 1st day of navratri we worship Shailputre mata. Yoga expert penance on Muladhar chakra on this day on Muladhar on this day.Generaly we can worship in shiv Temple to Parvati Mata. To worship Mataji with Lotus & offer Naivadh & Aarti.
Among the nine goddesses worshipped during the sacred period of Navratra festival for the fulfilment of all desires, first comes Maa Shailputri i.e. daughter of Himalaya.
 On the first day of the Navratra festival, it is a provision of worshipping goddess Bhagwati riding over a buffalo. Maa is holding a lotus flower in her right hand. in her earlier birth she was born as a daughter of King ‘Daksh Prajapati’. At that time her name was ‘Sati’ and she was married to lord Shanker. Maa Shailputri is owner of all powers. The Yogis and the devotees establish themselves over Mooladhat Chakra i.e. the starting point of Sadhna .
For Accomplishers: The first day of Navratra is the worship day of Bhagwati Shailputri. An ardent devotee and accomplishers keep fasting and make performance and accomplishment in various ways. For awakening of kundalini they try to awaken the Mooladhar Chakra. The accomplishers of Kundalini start Sadhna of awakening of the Mooladhar Chakra by making use of the wisdom gained at the lotus feet of Sadguru. The ardent devotee of Jagdamba Bhagwati (Maa Durga) make poojan of her Shailputr form and gaining her blessings they wish to justify their human life.
Mooladhar Chakra that planet Mercury controls over this plexus. Its world is earth. Its mother goddess is ‘Chamunda’, deity – Brahma, Tanmaatra – Substance, Element – Earth. Its place in body is two fingers & measure above the rectum and its area of effect is speech, the smell and the speed of the feet.
